Scarlett Johanson to Replace Warren!

I thought the title of this post and the picture would go perfectly together, since I don’t have a laugh track for this beaut from Rick Warren’s main man, Obama:
“I am fierce advocate for equality for gay and — well, let me start by talking about my own views. I think it is no secret that I am a fierce advocate for equality for gay and lesbian Americans. It is something I have been consistent on and something I intend to continue to be consistent on during my presidency. [...]“
That is down right laughable.
Wonkette, ever getting down to the cultural nub on these things, has some classic comments on the subject:
Seriously, “liberals” are really f—ing stupid sometimes.
You can’t bitch about wanting an inclusive society, by wanting and HOPEing that someone
who’s views you don’t like is EXCLUDED. It is ironic. And also dumb.
It doesn’t matter that they have Reverend Rot-Gut has dim-witted, mouth-breathing views.
The point is, if you don’t include/tolerate/accept all opinions, you’re just as large a

Right. Yeah, those damn “liberals.” Expecting a Democratic president, the first African American
president, to herald civil rights for everyone is just so “f—ing stupid.” Principles are teh suck.
I don’t actually think it was a good step politically, even though I agree that often punching hippies in the face is, sadly, politically smart. But it would be nice if someone like, say, EJ Dionne, would confront Warren’s bigotry and suggest it isn’t the change we can believe in. But I assume it’ll just be the dirty fucking hippies and Teh Gay. Because anti-gay bigotry is very centrist!
Mr. Obama obviously misinterpreted the political honeymoon he was receiving with believing we’re all just going to swallow whatever shallowness he shovels. ..and no, I’m not surprised by the choice of Warren. No one outlined Obama’s political opportunism, minus any ideological passion, more effectively than I have done. But the choice of Warren obliterates any political honeymoon I was willing to afford the new president. Disrespect goes both ways.
So, in honor of the crap being shoveled in our direction, I call time out for a cheesecake break, the nonfattening kind. JoeChi mentioned the infamous “cleavage Fridays” today, which began with this post about Clinton and Ghivan’s infamous column, though he referred to them as “beefcake Fridays.”
Consider this a topic free for all. If you’re bewildered about the specific subject for the headline or the picture chosen, I’m sure someone will explain it in the comments.
