Will Sean Hannity Retract Too?

BY TAYLOR MARSH

Yesterday on his show, Sean Hannity, lamely trying to channel Robin Leach, did a long monologue on the Page Six story that reported the Obamas checking into the Waldorf Astoria and chowing down on lobster and caviar, complete with every elitist inference allowed.

This is rare. Page Six has printed a retraction.

THE source who told us last week about Michelle Obama getting lobster and caviar delivered to her room at the Waldorf-Astoria must have been under the influence of a mind-altering drug. She was not even staying at the Waldorf. We regret the mistake, and our former source is going to regret it, too. Bread and water would be too good for such disinformation.

Don’t hold your breath for Sean’s.

…and just for the record, I like both lobster and caviar. Why is it that blue collar families aren’t supposed to like the finer things? That if we do it’s some crime against America? Can we afford it all the time, well, that’s another question all together. But there’s no crime in enjoying the delicious taste of lobster or a spoon of caviar, especially with champagne. Oh, now I’ve really done it! The problem comes when you convince yourself that voting Republican will give you a path to actually being able to afford these delectables. It’s the one thing Republicans continue to spoon feed American voters. Dream big, support Republicans and you, too, can have the finer things. It’s a fantasy that leads to the rich getting richer, while the rest of us pay for it.
