The above video is from Couric's interview tonight with both Biden and Palin, which touched on the issue of abortion, among other things.
Now, I don't get emails from PP because I'm not a member, but I was emailed the article
below recently and laughed out loud when I saw it. I was traveling when their campaign
"Make a donation to Planned Parenthood," the anonymous e-mail message urged. "Of any amount. In Sarah Palin's name."
The message, which began circulating widely on the Internet last week, had one more instruction: request that the personalized thank-you card from Planned Parenthood be sent to Ms. Palin, the Republican vice-presidential nominee and a vocal opponent of abortion, at the McCain-Palin campaign headquarters in Virginia.
So far, the scheme seems to be getting a strong response. As of Friday, Planned Parenthood had taken in $802,678 in donations from 31,313 people, said a spokesman for the organization, Tait Sye. More than two-thirds of the individuals are first-time donors to Planned Parenthood, Mr. Sye said, and money came in from all 50 states. ...
This is fantastic.
Sarah Palin represents everything anathema to women's civil rights. She would turn our progress in all areas back to the days where traditional values meant women don't get treated equally. Oh, wait a minute, when it comes to equal pay, we still aren't, something that gets ignored by McCain-Palin, who seem to be more worried about lawsuits than women and their families.
When you think about Joe Biden, he actually wrote the Violence Against Women Act. I wonder if Palin even knows what's in it.
The right to privacy is obviously critical as well, though it never occurs to Mrs. Palin. Men wouldn't allow such a fundamental assault on their personal freedoms. "Choice," as some refer to it, includes the Morning After pill and over the counter availability of all contraceptive choices, which is the only way we will reduce abortions.
So it's great that Planned Parenthood had a boffo fundraising drive on Sarah Palin's star
power, which included many, many first time donations. You can still send
a donation in Sarah Palin's name to Planned Parenthood. No doubt, everyone's hurting right now, but $5 would send a powerful message. Just follow the instructions below:
Women deserve better than Sarah Palin, especially in the 21st century. That's why so many are moving towards O-Biden. Contrary to McCain's belief, we're not stupid. Issues matter, which is why Sarah Palin is now doing John McCain more harm than good. Just ask leading conservatives.
Click here: On the left hand side at the bottom of the link about you'll see "I would like to make this gift in honor of..." Check that, then add Sarah Palin's name. Then it offers you to "Send acknowledgements to." Two choices on that one: McCain Palin Compliance Fund; P.O. Box 16118; Arlington, VA 22215 --OR-- Republican National Committee at 310 First Street, SE, Washington DC 20003.
