The sandbagging of Joe Biden didn’t work. That the Obama campaign has canceled a further interview with Jill Biden is fitting.

"How is Obama not being a Marxist if he intends to spread the wealth
around," asked the anchor, Barbara West. "Is this a joke?"
asked Biden. Is that a real question? Remarkably, it was.

That’s an idea of the questions Biden got in one of the most ideologically
biased interviews heard outside the Fox News Channel. With words like "embarrassed
by ACORN" and Joe the plumber being a "potentially crushing political
blunder," it didn’t take a genius to get that the anchor was in the bag
for the right. Here’s
the video.

West wondered about Sen. Barack Obama’s comment, to Joe the Plumber, about spreading the wealth. She quoted Karl Marx and asked how Obama isn’t being a Marxist with the "spreading the wealth" comment. "Are you joking?" said Biden, who is Obama’s running mate. "No," West said. West later asked Biden about his comments that Obama could be tested early on as president. She wondered if the Delaware senator was saying America’s days as the world’s leading power were over. "I don’t know who’s writing your questions," Biden shot back. Biden so disliked West’s line of questioning that the Obama campaign canceled a WFTV interview with Jill Biden, the candidate’s wife. "This cancellation is non-negotiable, and further opportunities for your station to interview with this campaign are unlikely, at best for the duration of the remaining days until the election," wrote Laura K. McGinnis, Central Florida communications director for the Obama campaign.

The last question from West warned that "Obama would want to turn America
into a socialist country much like Sweden." Biden nailed her saying, "I
don’t know anybody who thinks that except the far right wing of the Republican
party." Obviously, that would include Ms. West, who is now Michelle Malkin’s media heroine.

Biden didn’t flinch, didn’t give an inch.

Of course, the wingnuts are trying to turn this into a “Joe Biden got angry” story. It’s clear from the video that Biden not only didn’t get angry, he brushed West off like she was a gnat.
