QUESTION TO PALIN: ‘Is an abortion clinic bomber a terrorist?’

Palin: “I don’t know if you want to use the word ‘terrorist’ there. …” I would ask, what’s the difference?

Back to Ayers she retreats.

Williams tries again. Who else would you put in the “domestic terrorist”
file?

Palin, to paraphrase, says anyone who bombs the Capitol and who would harm “innocent
Americans.”

But yet Sarah Palin cannot bring herself to say that a woman in desperate need
of health care at the most emotional time of her life is not also an “innocent
American” as she tries to seek help. TM.com reader bigrc thinks this is important to talk about. He’s right.

It’s not enough to focus on Bill Ayers, who I warned would be up front this election season, as he is. In fact, what about Gordon Liddy, who may not be a bomber, but certainly plotted against the Constitution and the American people, doing dirty work for a corrupt president, even doing time for it? McCain and Liddy are friends, as McCain has attested. But what about abortion clinic bombers, those types of people on the far right who are Palin’s fans and are equally unrepentant?

If a leader can’t condemn his own for their wrongs he or she isn’t a leader at all. That’s what happened to McCain when he allowed the swiftboating and virulently negative character assassination of Obama to reach mainstream campaigning level. We’re finding Sarah’s no better. The law to be just can have no double standard.

Brian Williams drew out the question perfectly. To include Katie Couric and what she revealed about Palin,
just maybe journalism isn’t quite dead. It sure has been critical this fall.
