Hillary Hatred Lives On

It was completely unnecessary. It was, unfortunately, completely
predictable. TPM’s Hillary hatred knows no bounds, not even all these months
after the primary has ended, with Clinton doing more for Obama than any other
opponent of a winning candidate has ever done. Did Teddy raise $10 million
for Carter? Did Reagan for Ford? Did either crisscross the country bringing
in 18 million voters, plus the female vote who were devoted to Clinton? Don’t
make me laugh. But today, after a long-winded stem winder on McCain campaign
tactics, TPM goes out of its way to upload a reader email in a “late update”
that smears Hillary Clinton for doing something she didn’t do. There was simply no reason whatsoever to upload that email in a “late update” unless it was to continue the Hillary smears TPM launched throughout the primaries.
I’ll let Big
Tent Democrat say it for me. It’s important to note that BTD
is one of the only primary Obama supporters who comes to Clinton’s defense when
his fellow male bloggers go on a hate screed.
It should be noted that everyone of those charges is pure nonsense and Marshall
should be ashamed for repeating them yet again. Hillary Clinton’s campaign
NEVER used Rev. Wright ever. When asked, she said she would not have him as
her pastor. That was it. No ads. Nothing on Wright ever. The “hard working
white Americans” line was the question she was asked by the AP reporter.
It was another phony scandal, now a Josh Marshall specialty. But the one that
takes the cake is the “Obama in Muslim garb” lie that DRUDGE sold
and Marshall bought and still buys. What a disgraceful performance Josh Marshall
has put in this campaign season. I’ll be honest, I do not believe his site
when it writes something about McCain. I have to see it somewhere else before
I believe it now. I just do not trust his site anymore.

hand report, which says it all. Linda Hirshman was canned. This was part of TPM’s response when she asked why:
Andrew: “I’m not sure the accusation of bias is particularly helpful. For now, like I said, we’re focusing on getting our long-standing regulars and folks covering things we don’t on the blog. I recognize that you think female voters should be one of those things, we disagree. [emphasis added]
Yeah, because everyone knows that the female vote this year isn’t that important. How’s that for political analysis?
I assure you, on a day when Hillary and Barack stood together in Florida, with
Obama praising Hillary to the crowd, even leading a chant of “Hill-ary.
Hill-ary. Hill-ary,” Barack Obama would be the first to say that Hillary
Clinton’s absolute commitment to his campaign has been critical. Obama would also
distance himself from TPM’s tactics, which serve no one at this point.
But I also have no intention of letting these insults go without rebuttal.
TPM is sufficiently ignorant to believe that if Hillary Clinton had taken
even a portion of her 18 million voters with her and walked away Democrats would
win this year. That Obama can win without the female voters who still support Clinton, many of whom are supporting Obama because she asked it of them.
Remember that this is the type of analysis you get over there.
It’s a good thing Obama and the Democrats aren’t listening or using these same tactics. If they were we’d be losing.
