McCarthyism in a Skirt

It’s the new McCarthyism, introduced into the political bloodstream by John McCain, with the menace of communism being replaced by liberalism, with Obama the symbol of all things “radical.” Liberals are “anti-American,” with anti American views, as Sarah Palin has also implied.
Rep. Michele Bachmann, on “Hardball” today, completely melts down, saying that the media needs to do an investigation into Congress, because of possible anti American senators and representatives who may be skulking the halls of Washington.
Bachmann’s screed, which was given with a smile, is an offshoot of the robo-calls being unleashed across the country. You can bet her wingnut pals were sending her congratulations for putting this latest talking point in the political bloodstream. We need a new description for scorched earth.
