a straight face throughout. That takes discipline and knowing what’s coming.
Right-wing radio was all over the Ayers topic today. Karl Rove, speaking to Hannity, said McCain should open up the subject and not let it go.
Chris Matthews began “Hardball” asking Axelrod close to the same
question today.
“Some time after their first meeting. I don’t know the exact moment,” Axelrod said when asked when Obama learned that Ayers was co-founder of the radical Weather Underground group responsible for bombing federal buildings four decades ago.
“The fact is like a lot of people who didn’t live through that era, particularly they didn’t live through that era in Chicago, it just wasn’t…When he came to Chicago, Ayers was advising [Chicago] Mayor [Richard] Daley on school reform issues and that was his profile, that he was an expert on education.”
I’ve got a question for John McCain: “Senator, did you know Governor
Palin’s husband was a member of an American terrorist group for over 7 years?”
That would liven things up.
