Of course, McCain canceled Letterman, because he had to look like he was doing only he can save
something on the economy since his poll numbers are tanking
the economy. But that didn’t stop John “I’ll grandstand and say anything to get elected” McCain from sitting in with Katie Couric.
Sarah Palin
is in Philly.
Republican vice presidential nominee Gov. Sarah Palin will arrive in Philadelphia
Thursday.
Romney
is in Detroit.
Romney’s visit appeared to be on track even though McCain on Wednesday challenged
Obama to suspend their campaign, postpone Friday’s debate and work together
to deal with the nation’s financial troubles. Obama did not immediately respond
to his rival’s bold political move, but Obama campaign officials say the senator
is inclined to move ahead with the debate.
Nancy Mitchell Pfotenhauer, senior economic policy adviser is doing a live
chat with the Washington
Times.
Of course, we also had John McCain speaking at CGI.
More breaking updates, after Palin got caught readying for Philly, the event
was evidently canceled. Now she’s decided to stop everything until McCain’s poll numbers recover there is
a deal on the bailout.
Oh, and almost forgot, so to add: Katie Couric will air part two of the interview with Sarah Palin in which she pontificates about foreign policy. I guess the request from McCain to cancel that showing (**cough – cough**) was denied. End snark.
UPDATE IV: Palin at Ground Zero today, complete with video of her smiling while campaigning.
UPDATE III: Palin also campaigned at Ground Zero (hat tip to Audiegrl).
UPDATE II: TPM found not one, but two McCain flacks attacking Obama today, with video!
UPDATE: McCain team evidently also still working hard in Virginia.
