McCain Proudly Stands in Front of Walter Reed Middle School

TPM figured out
the building earlier today, while I was dealing with tech troubles (see
note below). Americans United for Change provides the video for McCain’s
embarrassment.
An advocacy group supporting Barack Obama is capitalizing on a flub during
the Republican National Convention to criticize John McCain on caring for
veterans.Americans United for Change announced that Iraq war vets will hold a news
conference Saturday morning in front of Walter Reed Army Medical Center in
Washington.During his acceptance speech Thursday night, an image of what was supposed
to be Walter Reed appeared on a big screen behind him. But Talking Points
Memo figured out the picture is actually of Walter Reed Middle School in North
Hollywood, Calif. …
Of course, McCain can’t be blamed for production idiots who… No, wait a minute.
This is the Republican Party. They’re supposed to be able to know the difference
between a middle school and a veterans hospital.
But it does fall in line with the way both McCain and Palin are using military
service to market their presidential ticket. You didn’t see any of this from
Joe and Beau Biden, or from James Webb either, who wouldn’t talk specifics about
his son, who was serving in Iraq, while he was trying to get a new GI bill passed, which McCain was against.
Republicans, once again, talking about military support, without having anything
to back it up.
TM NOTE: Sorry I haven’t been around today, but I was
dealing with an unprofessional, obviously incompetent and indifferent “techie” who was
supposed to fix my hard drive, but in re-installing WindowsXPpro, as a bonus
wiped out all my emails from spring 2007 forward. I won’t go in to his unethical
behavior, which had him adding comments to a contract after I had already signed
off on it. But if you find yourself needing tech help in Las Vegas, I’d think twice about using Computer Medics. Personal testimony of one professional disaster.
