Cocktails and Chilling Out

Thank heavens it’s Friday night. It’s been a wild two weeks, with both conventions now in the can. For Democrats, people showed up to see talent. For Republicans, they showed up to see a nominee’s rhetorical train wreck.
But it’s time for Friday evening cocktails now. Tip O’Neill rules apply. Everyone puts grievances and arguments aside to enjoy the music and take a load off.
Scott’s got the helm tomorrow and will be introducing something new.
As for me, it’s my birthday, so I’m going to step back a bit this weekend. Nothing fancy. Frankly, I just need some sleep.
So, enjoy the music. I tip my glass tonight to all of you who come around and respect what I do 24/7. For those who stop by to disrespect the work or the mission, to keep McCain out of the White House, well, some of you have already been booted and the rest won’t be around much longer. I’d rather have a smaller commenting community that gets along, discusses and doesn’t always agree, but can do it without the intense acrimony or insults. Please know that I realize you all have many choices where to go and hang out. I appreciate more than you know when you choose this site as one of the places you stop by to read and chat.
I’ve been talking politics as long as I can remember. I started writing on the web in 1996. It’s been a great ride so far.
Salut!
