Clinton Doesn’t Support Any Effort that would Hurt Obama

Will you hear her now?
A spokesperson for Sen. Clinton implicitly distanced the candidate from Lieberman’s
effort, telling the Huffington Post: “Senator Clinton fully supports
Senator Obama. She continues to urge all of her supporters to get behind him.
… She continues to do everything she can to rally folks behind him. We
don’t support any effort that doesn’t.”
But regardless of what Senator Clinton wants the Hillary
hysteria continues…
Obviously, the individuals below are not getting the message from Hillary.
So let me be clear. Senator Clinton doesn’t support any efforts meant to hijack
the Democratic convention. This can’t be said any clearer. Senator Clinton
does not, I repeat, does not support their efforts.
That doesn’t mean moving on is easy for any of us who still support Hillary.
Believe me, it’s not. But what’s going on under some claim of “support”
for her is anything but that at this point. But on they rail in unhinged rants
that drop like spit from a vagrant into my inbox. This one from “reddirtgirl”
ran off the reality wheels from the start:
It’s YOU Traitor Marsh who doesn’t understand how “party
politics” work! Your post is highly insulting. I am not “a hysterical
female”. I’m afraid you are wayyyy offbase in your assessment of this
situation, and should be ashamed of yourself for ABANDONING Hillary.
Do you not realize that Hillary SUSPENDED her campaign, she DID NOT concede,
and furthermore, she has kept her delegates??? You are growing more stupid
as the days go by. In addition, Ms Traitor, Hillary WON the
popular vote and has more than enough electoral votes to take the nomination.
The two candidates are only a very FEW delegates apart. On the other hand,
Nobama did NOT receive the number of pledge delegates to win the nomination.
… Hillary was forced by the DNC to say she supports Nobama, and
forced BY PREVIOUS AGREEMENT to campaign for him. It is obvious by
the fact that she has kept her delegates, AND that she NEVER conceded the
race, that she intends to take her fight to the floor in Denver.
… .. Ya know, I used to enjoy your blog, but as soon as the Thug announced
that he was the nominee, you’ve turned into a complete idiot. Furthermore,
WAKE UP AND SMELL THE NOBAMA. HE’S REALLY BEGINNING TO STINK, AND THE SD’S
ARE FLIPPING BACK TO HILLARY.
Hello?
Someone needs to back off the caffeine.
Let me say this slowly so even the most dense can understand. Senator Clinton
is not…. NOT… (let that sink in for a moment) … intending…
…. nor will she make any effort whatsoever … … to take her fight… …
(read all of those words again)… to the floor in Denver. Let’s repeat.
Senator Clinton is not, NOT intending, nor will she make any effort whatsoever,
to take her fight to the floor in Denver.
Deep breath. Exhale.
The disrespect that Hillary is now being shown is stunning. These people who
voted and once supported Hillary now believe she’s a victim and is so weak she
can’t get for herself what she wants. That the Democrats are going to push her
around? The Democratic Party cannot win in November without Hillary and people
like me and the readers at this blog who still support Hillary, but who have
faced the facts that we all gave the best fight, but did not prevail.
These are just a very small sampling of the emails I’m getting, all of which
revolve around the person emailing and what they want, ignoring all of Senator Clinton’s
requests. Their egos are now fully invested, which is always a dangerous thing. They all have another thing in common. These people want to cause
chaos at the Democratic convention, something Senator Clinton does not support
in any way. These people want to harm Barack Obama and make it impossible for
us to win in November. Senator Clinton does not support these actions in any
way. But on they rant, spewing self-defeating nonsense even in the face of requests
and clear signals from Clinton that the only thing she wants now is to elect
a Democrat in November.
Creative writing from the clueless below…
Buyers remorse is setting in. There are a vast number of voters that question
whether Obama possesses the judgment, experience, resolve or readiness to
take on the toughest job in the world. Our country is experiencing trying
times not endured in decades and on-the-job-training is a luxury we can’t
afford. Fortunately, we don’t have to — there is still time for the Democrats
to do the right thing and allow Senator Clinton a fair and meaningful roll
call vote at the convention. Please work towards this. Please talk to the
other members of the DNC and the super delegates and the delegates. To let
the public have two weak choices to choose from while we have the chance to
have the amazing Hillary would be a tragedy we will all live to regret. This
is not a game. This is serious. Please Taylor do the right thing. – MargieI UNDERSTAND YOU WANT TO SUSPEND THE RULES AND NOT TAKE VOTES AT THE CONVENTION.
WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE? PEOPLE LIKE YOU ARE RUINING MY PARTY. OBAMA WAS
A POOR CHOICE AND NOW YOU WANT US ALL TO PAY FOR YOUR MISTAKES. I WILL NEVER,
EVER, VOTE FOR A MAN WHO HASN’T A CLUE. YES, I KNOW MCCAIN DOESN’T EITHER
BUT HILLARY DOES. – SVI demand a roll call vote regarding the democratic nomination for President
at the Denver Convention. This is my right – I am appalled at what happened
when the DNC only gave delegates from FL and Michigan 50% of their vote. I
am a resident of Florida, and went to great effort to help people get to the
primary poles as well as myself to vote. I feel no less than if I had been
barred from entering the polling booth. – KWMy vote is a earned vote and cannot be negotiated. No roll, my vote goes
to McCain. – CMDemocracy is inclusive, open, free with strong values! What do you fear from
allowing the Democratic Party, my party, as well as 18 million plus other
voter’s party, in having a roll call vote? If we vote in fear, we have lost
our democracy! Remember what President Franklin D. Roosevelt said, “We
have nothing to fear, but fear itself.” Free yourself from fear and step
back and let our democracy live! – Barbara from OH
All this was generated because some anti Obama site made up complete nonsense
that I was stopping a roll call vote at the convention. Seriously, that’s how
ignorant these people are about the process and party power. Again, to reiterate,
they didn’t even bother to check that all I did was link
to Craig Crawford who said: “All the more reason for Obama to make
sure that there is no roll call including Clinton’s name on the ballot at the
national convention — which a few die hard fans of the former First Lady are
still clamoring for. Why highlight just how close the Democratic contest really
was? And there is certainly no gain for Obama in dwelling on how he had to depend
on superdelegates to win the nomination.” Then I agreed with him.
That simple. His analysis is correct.
Facts don’t matter, whether it’s Senator Clinton asking for us all to support
and work for a Democratic victory in November, or that analysis is different
from what these people are alleging. In the end it has become all about them,
their vote, their relevancy, which they’re pushing through
animosity. Oh, and the fact that it is these people, not Senator Hillary Clinton
or her supporters like me and others on this blog and beyond, who want to scuttle
Barack Obama’s presidential hopes.
How dare you suggest that there be a coronation at the convention? That suggestion
spanks of undemocratic principles. … I need to remind you it took
4 ballots before FDR was nominated and Senator Kennedy was shy by 900 delegates
but was still allowed a vote at the convention. … I highly recommend
you discontinue your call for a “no vote” for Hillary at the convention
before you make yourself look more foolish. … .. – NA
Absolutely completely clueless. Never at any time have I called for a “‘no
vote’ for Hillary at the convention.” Not once. Hey, but let’s not let
facts get in the middle of a good fictional rant.
What all these unhinged, uninformed, uncontrollably factless people don’t respect
is that Senator Clinton is negotiating her own roll at the convention with the
Obama team. I trust Senator Clinton. She knows what she’s doing. To suggest
otherwise, like all of these people running around half-cocked, is an insult.
This would be hilarious if what they are doing didn’t have the potential of
backfiring on Hillary. Just this past week on Air America, a host sitting in
for Ed Schultz did a segment talking to listeners and taking their calls that
revolved around their belief that Hillary Clinton orchestrated Jesse Jackson’s
“nut-gate”, that Hillary was also responsible for The New Yorker
cover, along with her diabolical minions, and that even Senator Clinton asking
people to roll over contributions to her 2012 senate bid, because they’d give
over the $2,300 limit during the presidential primary, was actually further
proof that she was still working on getting the nomination and bringing Obama
down. We all know some will blame Hillary no matter what happens, which these callers proved. But the perception beyond these fantastical notions because of efforts afoot to hijack Denver is another story.
The efforts going on right now from the unhinged fringe have absolutely no relationship whatsoever to Senator Clinton. The notion that she supports them is absolutely false. Again, with feeling: “Senator Clinton fully supports Senator Obama. She continues to urge all of her supporters to get behind him. … She continues to do everything she can to rally folks behind him. We don’t support any effort that doesn’t.” The potential of blowback on Hillary Clinton is why I’m addressing this issue head on. Party politics can be brutal, something Hillary
knows all too well. Hillary’s best interests are tied to Barack. It’s that simple. She will not
do anything to derail Senator Obama’s historic presidential bid.
Hillary and Bill Clinton will do everything they are asked to help
elect Barack Obama in November. I’m proud to stand right beside them.
