Clinton Ahead of the Curve on the Economy

According to YouTube upload logs, the above video was “added March 28, 2007.” Clinton was warning of the economic crisis long before it happened. Why? Because running for president isn’t a vanity
shot at fame for Clinton. She worked for decades to be prepared for it, unlike Senator Obama. It’s a moral calling for her, because Hillary Clinton believes she can
lead this country, and with the help of others working with her, can actually
solve our biggest challenges.

Clinton showed up at the first Carson City, NV
forum, unlike Obama, who instead did a
flyover to another fundraiser
. Clinton not only showed up at the next health
care forum, but she
blew everyone off the stage
. By the way, the review featured through that link came long before I became partisan
for Hillary Clinton, which didn’t happen until much later. In fact, I was leaning
Edwards when this all began. As for Obama’s appearance, it was as astounding as it
was underwhelming. Obama showed up unprepared and promising his health care
plan would be rolled out soon. That is, as soon as his advisers wrote it.

Clinton
has been involved in the issues for decades. It’s why Helen Thomas wrote this
piece yesterday. I read it, but the amount of emails I received on it compels
me to feature it:

… .. Although Obama has racked up more delegates, neither candidate has
nailed the 2,024 delegates needed to secure the nomination..

Obama has captivated the enthusiastic support of America’s youth and ignited
their interest in presidential politics. His eloquent speeches are designed
for the bully pulpit. But does a good speech make a good president?

Obama stresses he was against the invasion of Iraq, but he doesn’t say he
was not in the Senate when it was initiated. Since become a senator, he has
twice voted to fund the war.

I am still trying to find the key that has made Obama a prime candidate for
the presidency, and to understand what he has done for the country beyond
his middle-of-the-road political moves to make his name known and to steer
clear of hot-button issues.

The Rev. Martin Luther King had a dream, too. But he acted on it. He went
to jail, he marched, he led. … ..

Clinton
should hang in there and run a good race to the end

By HELEN THOMAS

Where was Obama last year? He sure wasn’t anticipating the economic collapse. Clinton was. As for John McCain, the man hasn’t a clue about the economy. Hillary Clinton is the only presidential candidate who gets it. She can begin to lead us out of this mess and being putting our economy on more solid ground. Without economic action, which includes fiscal restraint, as well as stopping the money pit of Iraq, universal health care is simply a pipe dream that will never come true.
