Obama Passport Drama

Obama Passport Drama

Talk about drama. This kerfuffle is so 1990s. More Republican shenanigans, if you ask me.

A State Department official who carried out the two-day search of passport files for information about Gov. Bill Clinton said today that he had resigned, just 48 hours before Federal investigators are expected to issue a report criticizing the search. … ..

Bill Clinton is so been there and done that, so what is all the fuss?

Two State Department employees were fired and a third has been disciplined
for improperly accessing Sen. Barack Obama’s passport file, the State Department
announced last night. – WashingtonPost.com

The biggest crime as of right now is that the traditional media missed it. I’m shocked.

I was going to offer a video of passportgate, but Keith Olbermann’s hyperventilating
was too embarrassing to post. Seriously, is Keith in full scale middle age meltdown
or what? Dan Abrams was equally a flutter. Drama queens, all.

Deferring to experts, via
Larry Johnson:

UPDATE (From Larry Johnson)–Folks, this is really a non-story. …
.. We know he has not visited Europe. His only real overseas travel before
joining the Senate was to Africa. And the passport records do not contain
info about that trip, other than the date he made the trip. People with no
need to know should not have been checking out his documents, but at the end
of the day there is no there there.

No kidding.

Any government employee accessing private records is wrong, but what is all
this flapping around? Oh, right, Wright. Obama’s team is desperatley
anxious to change the subject, I get it. How can (ahem) I help, though it seems
the Obama blogs are on it as of this hour.
