MSNBC Talks Primary Battle with Bloggers

That would be myself, with Matthew Yglesias on the Obama side. Thought you might want to hear the brief back and forth between us. Yglesias
was representing the pro-Obama side. Was supposed to be on satellite, but the
affiliate had a conflict so I was on via phone, with Monica
Novotny
hosting. She knew the subject background and did a good job. Novotny
quoted the diary from DailyKos on the “strike.” When it came to me,
Rev. Wright was the focus, then it turned back to the online acrimony of the
primaries. It’s short; take a listen:

MSNBC:
TM and Matthew Yglesias
(podcast)

“We hoped that this would get wrapped up sooner, but um, you know, Senator
Clinton has decided that she wants to stay in it as long as she has any vague
hope of winning and so the process has continued and there’s been a sort of
escalating bitter tone to it. … ..” – Matthew Yglesias

No offense to Matthew, but he also doesn’t seem to understand what’s been hurled
at Clinton supporters, talking about Clinton supporters being “beleaguered.”
He also evidently doesn’t understand the difference between serious disagreement
and hate screed diaries that are meant to defame people, with hosts of certain
sites allowing it to be done with impunity. It also should be noted that people
like Larry Johnson get warnings about his posts, with Linda Hirshman
fired from TPM Cafe
for not writing pro-Obama entries, with no requisite experience on the web from Obama supporters. The banning of Hillary Clnton supporters in comment sections goes on without end.

On another note, Obama is holding
up the Michigan plan for a revote
. The latest definition of Obama’s new brand of politics, Chicago style:

… .. “Clinton folks will do anything to open Michigan back up,”
said Hunter, who is co-chairman of the Obama campaign in Michigan. “She
is in a hunt for delegates. Why this sudden pull out all the stops to give
Hillary Clinton every opportunity to try to catch up? Guess what? It’s not
going to happen. This legislator is not going to facilitate it.”

But Clinton spokesman Phil Singer said, “By refusing to embrace a plan
that has broad support, the Obama campaign is blocking the people of Michigan
from being able to vote and make their voices heard.” … ..
