Implosion at MSNBC

12 March 2008 7:02 pm by Taylor Marsh

Ann Curry shows a little class on NBC, while MSNBC crashes and burns tonight.

Did anyone see Dan Abrams?

Keli Goff and Patrick J. Buchanan got into it over Ferraro. Only problem is
Goff didn’t know her primary states or the story of what happened early on.
Buchanan was absolutely correct about the primary states, but Goff’s idiocy ticked him off and he made the mistake of actually telling her to “shut up,” which had Rachel Maddow
saying shame on you. It was one of the most ridiculous displays of substance
free cable TV I’ve ever seen. Dan Abrams just sat their flummoxed, not sure what to do, so all he did was exhale. That Goff
would start rambling about the primary wins before South Carolina without knowing
the states involved before it had very small African American communities is
remarkable, but it also made her look like a complete idiot. Buchanan was way
out of line, but Maddow doesn’t need to play Miss Manners. Earth to Maddow, it’s not your show.

As for Olbermann, he started by thanking the Clintons, then ripped the scab
off of every primary wound that’s come before today. At one point the pompous anchorman actually squealed “David Duke,” while doing the Obama camp’s greatest hits, resurrecting
them all, including Bill Clinton in South Carolina. The delivery was so overwrought
and dramatic at one point I was almost convinced he was going to start talking
about Jesus, then ask for cash.

What in the world is happening over at MSNBC?

MSNBC, cable TV run amok.

Here’s some email addresses if you feel so inclined, but keep them respectful,
even though it’s clear MSNBC sure doesn’t respect it’s viewers: Steve
Capus
; Phil Griffin.

As for Democrats, don’t look now, but this primary season, especially as it’s playing out on cable, is the gift that just keeps giving to John McCain.
