Clinton Cocktail Party

Calling Riverdaughter
… or in her absence we will celebrate the end of a fine week with a toast to her. She offers:
It’s
a snark lover’s dream today in the left blogosphere
. Indeed.

You’ll need a drink after this post: Hillary Clinton, fratricidal maniac, brought to you by yet another male who reveals his CDS, while being totally clueless that Clinton can’t win if she doesn’t make the case, especially on national security. But is the poster correct? Ask Howard Dean. Remember this ad, progressives using Osama bin Laden against Dean in the primaries? Far, far worse than what Clinton has done; but then again, the Dean ad was mano e mano, not Clinton v. the Sexist Class of the Democratic Party.

Now on to further recap the week…

Governor Ted Strickland is our politician of the week, with his hard work for Hillary in Ohio. What a thumping the Ohioans gave Obama.

I also want to take a moment to highlight the ad of the primary season (so far). Many liberals and progressives said that the 3:00 o’clock ad, actually entitled “Children,” was fearmongering and wrong. What so many criticizing this ad don’t understand is that these are real issues for people considering voting for a Democrat to be commander-in-chief. Fair or not, Republicans get a pass on this stuff. It’s a bar Democrats still have to meet. Clinton’s unflinching decision to run such a tough ad was as in your face a message to the Republicans as it comes.
It’s the very definition of being a fighter, as she considers running against John McCain, who is a bona fide American hero. His politics and foreign policy judgment are another matter entirely. This ad asked one simple question: Who do you want to be commander-in-chief? Obama’s response was good but soft, and his record of not calling one single hearing of his foreign policy committee left him wide open for Clinton to get the last word, even as her focus was also on the general election. It’s called hard ball. It’s also how Democrats win elections: Make sure the toughest nominee is selected during the primary season. I don’t know about you, but I’m sick of losing.

On the same note as Riverdaughter’s post today, Big Tent Democrat gets a big shout out, too. In the midst
of the mind numbing drivel from the Obama blogs, BTD continues hit on the hypocrisy
in the Obama blogosphere. He, too, slams
one particular post
, as did Riverdaughter, naming it “post of the day.”
He also has this
post
, this
one
too, but don’t forget this
one
either. A reminder, BTD has plenty of criticism for Clinton when the case warrants.

Steve Soto
asks, Senator Obama, did you want cheese with that whine?

Pamela writes about the
covert Democratic party secret
that’s been revealed this primary season;
let me add, especially in the Obama blogosphere.

MyDD diarist “environmentally
blue”
asks: Can Keith Olbermann even repair his reputation?
The answer is a resounding no.

To add a good one just sent to me by email: The Daily Howler has a beauty on the hack media.

And just when you thought Obama’s advisers might shut up and let their candidate
have a break, enter news on John Brennan:

“I do believe strongly that they should be granted that immunity.”
John Brennan,
Obama adviser

Larry’s all over the latest edition of “Obama’s Foreign Policy Follies.”

Paul
Krugman
once again reminds us that it’s still “the economy, stupid,”
especially with all the bad news tumbling forth. Prayers and meditations go
out to everyone hurting, my fellow lunch bucket Dems and blue collar families
trying to make ends meet.

But let’s put out troubles aside…

It’s been a long, tough week for everyone. A tremendous week for Clinton, and
you all are a big reason why. So, drinks are on me, open bar, baby.

Let’s listen and enjoy the music.

Fill your glass with your favorite libation,
and talk about whatever comes to mind. Lurkers, come on in, the cocktails are strong and compliments of the house. Simply kick back a bit
and enjoy each other. It’s time to unwind.
