D-Day in Ohio

A Clinton – Clark ticket, what a winner that would be.

Last week’s debate Clinton let Obama off the hook. Then let fly the “xerox”
line that she didn’t feel. Her closing was compassionate, but it’s not going
to close the deal with voters still torn:

… .. The effort underscores not only Mrs. Clinton’s recognition that the
next round of primaries — in Ohio and Texas on March 4 — are must-win
contests for her. It also reflects her advisers’ belief that they can
persuade many undecided voters to embrace her at the last minute by finally
drawing sharply worded, attention-grabbing contrasts with Mr. Obama. … ..

Clinton and Obama are essentially tied in Texas, but Obama’s picking up steam. That’s not what she needs. Help if you can; it could make the difference.

As for the debate tonight, she needs to show what she did over the weekend
and in her speech last night. “Alienating” voters with her strength
is nonsense, as long as it’s grounded in passion, not some prefabricated line
that only works if you’re for her in the first place.

Clinton must be fearless enough to pin Obama on the campaign ad’s he’s running, but most importantly prove why she’s a stronger leader than he is. Time’s out for pulling punches. Besides, when her passion is revealed she shines. A little rhetorical issue wrestling is in order, but this time she simply can’t let him charm his way through it.
