Welcome New Readers

Hmmmm. Wonder where those DK “editors” were when I was getting
defamed during the Nevada caucuses (see here and here), complete with blaring headlines on DK diaries? I guess
it’s selective. If you’re smearing Clinton or anyone proving points about Obama
you’re fair game. I’d like to know how many others are experiencing this stuff. Seriously, these comments are monitored, right? Hey, but all the anti Clinton blogs out there have been a
boon to the few of us who actually report the facts on Mr. Obama, while giving
Clinton her due.

The best post so far on this comes from my friend Larry Johnson, who let fly last night. It’s laugh out loud hilarious, also proving you shouldn’t tick off a former C.I.A. agent.

Then there’s Xeonophon’s post on “The Obama Psychosis.” What an opening paragraph.

Another one over at The Left Coaster entitled “Hillary’s Act II.”

Jerome nails Obama’s new Wisconsin ad.

Oh, and by the way, still getting Obamabot screeds, even after last night’s post: Obama’s
Unhinged Fans Reveal a Dangerous Zealotry
. You’d think they’d realize by now they’re actually hurting their own efforts, while giving fodder to wingnuts, as the rest of us cringe. Here’s one new flame I received:

I see you posted my comment on your page, touche, imitate your wannabe queen
and cry me a river, that is what you get when you are a propagandist for the
f—ing Clintons’, btw I still think you are a f—ing crazy c—- and a racist
shemale b—-, I also still can’t wait to read your posts after Barack wins
the nomination and the presidency!

Evidently, besides being political zealots, not to mention just plain stupid,
they also don’t get that nothing will change around here. The truth will continue
to be told. See Harry Truman on truth and hell.

But seriously, this is what happens when “conversion”
stories are more important than issues
to a campaign, as they are to Obama.

On the verge of a hectic few weeks leading to Super Tuesday, the crucial
Feb. 5 multistate primary including California’s, Mack wanted to drill home
one of the campaign’s key strategies: telling potential voters personal stories
of political conversion.

She urged volunteers to hone their own stories of how they came to Obama
– something they could compress into 30 seconds on the phone.

“Work on that, refine that, say it in the mirror,” she said. “Get
it down.”

She told the volunteers that potential voters would no doubt confront
them with policy questions. Mack’s direction: Don’t go there.
Refer
them to Obama’s Web site, which includes enough material to sate any wonk.

The idea behind the personal narratives is to reclaim “values”
politics from the Republican Party, said Marshall Ganz, a one-time labor organizer
for Cesar Chavez and the United Farm Workers who developed “Camp Obama”
training sessions for volunteers.

… .. “Values are not just concepts, they’re feelings,”
Ganz said. … ..

Don’t go there? What a way to pick a president.

But welcome to everyone who has recently found a home here. We appreciate it
more than you know. Keep spreading the word. I do this alone, with the help of AgoraNet (the most amazing tech team ever), plus occasional brave
guest bloggers, so I need all the readers, listeners and political junkies and neophytes, too, I can get. People who are interested in politics that actually has a foundation in policies, and not some far flung, invective laced, pseudo-politico-religious quackery “let’s make a deal” con job. The anti Clinton blogs are sending readers to me (and others) in droves. One new TM.com reader (of many) shared this with me (referencing this incident):

Message sent to TPM – Dear Josh: I have deleted your blog from my bookmarks.
I am so tired of you bias against Hillary Clinton. 1. Hillary Clinton did
not demand that David Shuster be fired. 2. The pictures you show at the top
of your article are disgusting – David Shuster smiling, cute, Hillary Clinton
looking like something the cat drug in. 3. The comments on your article are
disgusting. So misogynistic! What is wrong with you people? I find it amazing
that I actually thought that your website was progressive. It is not progressive
when you continually bash the woman running for president. You sir, are as
sexist as anyone in the mainstream media. Have a good life!

Whatever happens and whoever wins the nomination, things have certainly shifted
and people have awakened. Gigantic traffic stats doesn’t equal credibility (if it ever really did) any more. The Hillary hatred on many progressive blogs has unmasked the secret misogyny in the midst of the progressive movement. Karma’s a bitch and she’s pissed.
