Why Hillary?

The video above proves what I’ve been saying for months, about thirty seconds in, but watch it all. There is only one speech worth of difference between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama on Iraq.

Lambert
gets it and weighs in.

My bottom line is this:

I feel that I know Hillary. For all her faults, I know her.

I want to entrust the very challenging future of our country to someone I
know. Simple as that.

I don’t feel that I know Obama, and the more I learn about him, the
less I like. … .. (snip)… … …

… .. Second, I think Obama is getting way too much mileage out of a speech he
gave in 2002, at the state level, when he had no skin in the game. I’m
glad he made the speech, but it’s a form of “cheap grace”
to stand up for the right thing when there’s no political cost to doing
so. I’d be a lot more impressed by the 2002 speech if Obama had used
Senate Foreign Relations subcommitee chairmanship as a
bully pulpit on Afghanistan and Iraq
. He did nothing. … .. (read
the rest)

That’s a fact that cannot be ignored, though the traditional media and everyone else have done their best to do just that.

Whether you’re voting tomorrow or have already voted, why did you pick Hillary?
I’d ask why Obama’s people are picking him, but all we’d get is “change”
and “hope,” and the challenges of this world require something beyond
platitudes.

Eriposte has
a terrific post on Clinton and the AUMF.

Tom Watson.

Larry Johnson.

Wes Clark.

Joseph Wilson
also hits Obama on Iraq.

Have I told you lately how much I adore smart men? I can’t say it often enough.

UPDATE: Jack Nicholson endorses Clinton. I always knew he was smart.
