Romney’s National Security Weakness

The ad is entitled “Jihad.” You’d expect tough, right? Not from Romney. The music is wrong. The text is horrible; likely one of the worst scripts I’ve ever heard. Talking about a “caliphate” in an ad? Is this guy nuts? Then there’s the setting. And why is Romney talking about jihadism in the middle of suburbia anyway? What is this guy campaigning for, commander of the coporation?
Seriously, as if his lawyer line recently wasn’t bad enough.
Asked during Tuesday’s CNBC debate in Dearborn, Mich., if he would obtain
congressional authorization before taking any military action against Iran’s
nuclear facilities, Romney said, “You sit down with your attorneys and
they tell you what you have to do, but obviously the president of the United
States has to do what’s in the best interest of the United States to protect
us against a potential threat.”
Now this video drivel. Today Matthews ran it, describing it as a Ward Clever talking to the Beave moment. It’s worse.
This is not the first time Slick Mitt has appeared totally clueless on national
security. Remember what he said about his sons serving his campaign, which eventually
brought about an apology because the guy is so absolutely clueless.
“One of the ways my sons are showing support for our nation is helping
me get elected because they think I’d be a great president.” – Mitt
Romney
Watch the ad again. Romney doesn’t get it. At all. On national security, the
words are coming out, but instead of making me feel safe he makes me want to check my ammo stash.
Rudy is going to eat this guy for a snack.
