Torture is backand Bush has sanctioned it. Catch Andrew Sullivan’s headline: WAR CRIMINAL.

Oh, and remember that Washington Post headline I made fun of last night? Well, shazam! Today it’s been changed. From “Bill Clinton Considered an Asset to Hillary Clinton’s Campaign”, to In Latest Poll, Good News for Both Clintons. Don’t you just love it?

Speaking of Clinton, reader Jo-Ann mentioned the above YouTube, so I thought I’d share it. It’s another good video from camp Clinton. The last line in it is really the key to her campaign for many people. She’s a fighter and she’s shown it over many years. That’s what we’re going to need to take back the White House. With the guys not laying a glove on her, because they haven’t figured out how to attack her without sounding overbearing, Clinton continues to look like the toughest candidate.

Now a bit more on Edwards. Markos has some SUSA poll numbers up that you may have already seen and are important to emphasize. His analysis is dead on regarding public financing, but I’d take it one step further. Edwards getting sidetracked away from Iraq, after the public financing decision which he had to make, is now his second biggest mistake (it was his first), especially since Clinton isn’t making any. Richardson and Dodd have both seized on it. Trippi trying to make lobbying the primary issue is a mistake, as I’ve said before. The point has been made, so get back to Iraq. But even after the public financing call on Monday, which showed team Edwards in fighting spirit, as well as backtracking on their public financing pledge for the general, you cannot ignore the reality. Markos:

Bottom line, all things being equal, we look pretty good regardless of our nominee. Unfortunately, all things are not equal, since Edwards decided to unilaterally disarm in the primary. Too bad, because while none of these guys had an “electability” argument a week ago, the guy who has just given his Republican counterpart (assuming it’s not McCain) a $125 million advantage over the summer has definitely taken a hit.

As for the SCHIP and health care subject, Bush’s veto is going to haunt Republicans in ‘08 if they don’t join Democrats to ovveride. The line is drawn.

Lots to talk about, including that the judge denies Larry Craig’s plea to withdraw his guilty plea.

Hope you can join me.
