Out of the mouth of a general. It was the slip of abject candor that no doubt left the general spinning. Oh, gods of war, get me out of this mess.
Sen. Evan Bayh (D-IN) served it up as a gift.
Bayh: … you’d given that a little additional thought?
Petraeus: Immediately afterwards, actually.
I’ll bet. Petraeus can breathe deeply — or at least not have to watch Bush try to get him out of the mess — once again.
