Helping Hillary

, this stuff is just a gift.

In response to more than a few answers tonight — on Iraq, on China
— I’ve said, “she sounds reasonable.” If I were a normal America,
I think I’d really think that. That’s really hard to admit.

National
Review
, Kathryn Jean Lopez

I’m a woman, so I’ll make the comment Kevin ducked. Ms. Lopez aspires to be
a “normal American.” You know, someone who doesn’t hide at the thought
of our constitutional rights being more important than a phantom terrorist talking
on a phone in the middle of the night.

But really, these types of things are just mana from heaven for Hillary. NRO
thinks Hillary is “reasonable.” Alert the media.

That’s what Obama’s people and many others analyzing what he’s saying about
Pakistan just don’t get. It’s not about insider Washington, at least not on
this one. It’s about the complexity of the issue, the challenges and what Musharraf
is facing, not to mention the seriousness of what we’re dealing with if replacing Musharraf means getting someone more dangerous in a land where terrorists rule is the outcome. I’ve railed against Musharraf and Pakistan’s abdication on al Qaeda, while also understanding they’re still an asset in an area filled with enemies. But as for this debate, people move on foreign policy very slowly. That’s because most don’t follow the details, let alone understand Pakistani politics. Comfort is
the guide post. Clinton is making people feel comfortable with her decision making process, with the juxtapositioning
of Obama’s threat of incursion into a military power armed with nukes, in the middle of al Qaedaland, driving the point home.

Let’s face it, if the NRO has taken to announcing Clinton “sounds reasonable,” she’s on track, especially for the general.

On another note, did you notice the surrogate attack action tonight? Biden, for one, then Chris Dodd chimed in, both double teaming Mr. Obama. It’s not complete, but some are beginning to smell a winner and just in case, no one wants to be odd man out. Interesting development.
