Republican Enthusiasm on Low

05 August 2007 9:09 am by Taylor Marsh

Democrats leave
Chicago enthused
(some enthralled), ready to work harder than ever, with
real belief that whoever our candidate is in ‘08 we have a great chance of winning
the presidency.

Republicans, not so much.

A strong presence in Iowa has lifted Mitt Romney over his Republican rivals
in overall support and ratings of personal attributes alike. But his support
is not strong, and likely caucus-goers overall are less than thrilled with
their choice of candidates. … ..

Strong
Iowa Presence Lifts Romney, But Republican Enthusiasm is Low

Immediately below the headline about low Republican enthusiasm sits Slick Mitt’s
mug. That says it all. But as I’ve been writing for over a year and a half,
Romney worries me. Anyone who will change his opinion on every single issue
depending on the audience before him has the potential of seducing the American
voter. When you’re working two jobs, raising a family and trying to just pay
bills, few have the time to look past his mug. Teflon doesn’t begin to describe
Slick Mitt.

ABC has some video of today’s debate: Romney-Brownback
smackdown
, McCain
and Romney channel Bush
, Tancredo,
Ron Paul smart
at least on Iraq
, Rudy
& taxes
, McCain
on Cheney
, and Rudy
on his mistakes
(don’t miss this one!).

Democrats have the momentum, but the work hasn’t even begun. However, I still like our odds.
