GOPers Cut and Run from YouTube Debate

27 July 2007 7:42 am by Taylor Marsh

It’s official. Republicans are now The Monarchy Party. This is classic stuff. Only John McCain and Ron Paul have said they’d take
part in the Republican version of the YouTube – CNN debate coming up.

Four days after the Democratic debate in Charleston, S.C,. more than 400
questions directed to the GOP presidential field have been uploaded on YouTube
— targeted at Republicans scheduled to get their turn at videopopulism on
Sept. 17.

But so far, only Sen. John McCain (Ariz.) and Rep. Ron Paul (Tex.) have agreed
to participate in the debate, co-hosted by Republican Party of Florida in
St. Petersburg.

"Aside from those two candidates, we haven’t heard from anyone else,"
said Sam Feist of CNN, who’s co-sponsoring the debate with the popular videosharing
site. …

But
Don’t Ask Him on YouTube…

Slick Mitt won’t do anything he can’t completely control. The man is an invertebrate.

They’ve even got wingnut radio & blogger Hugh Hewitt running interference
for them.

To illustrate, take
a look at this story
–a bit of agenda journalism that Jonathan Martin
at Politico.com told me on air today is built on a story that has been floating
around for months. Imagine some YouTube video asking Rudy why he’s defending
a suspected pedophile. No MSMer would dare ask such a loaded question, but
imagine what the gang at CNN would do. They covered for the Dems with a series
of overwhelmingly left-biased questions at the first YouTube debate, with
a very few tough, serious questions thrown in. That dynamic would change completely
in a GOP YouTube debate –they or their counterparts at a different network
will be gunning for the Republicans, and the question set will be designed
to embarrass or ridicule.

Rudy’s too afraid of open forum questions, too. I guess he’s scared the firefighters
might attack, though he’s using
another excuse
. Or maybe it’s the story at the link above: Giuliani
has connection with accused priest.
That’s why Rudy’s scared of YouTube?

Let’s face it, Republicans just don’t want to face the people. They don’t want no stinkin’ questions from we the people.

McCain and Paul, if they’re the only ones who agree to the debate, should get credit for showing up. However, they won’t. Republicans prefer kings.
