Losing A Friend I Never Met

This is just crushing news. It leaves me speechless. Steve Gilliard is gone. He died yesterday morning. I found out after I got home late tonight. Thanks so much to Cujo359 for putting up Jane's post.
Steve and I never met, but we traded innumerable emails about Iraq and the
military; discussions that mattered very much to me. But his voice meant so much to so many.
Prayers go out to his family and everyone who loved him. It's such a tragic
loss.
The News Blog will be missed.
