Edwards Plan News Conference –bumped & updated–

THE EDWARDS CAMPAIGN GOES ON!

VIDEO: PURE STRENGTH AND HEART

UPDATE (9:25 a.m.): Elizabeth Edwards\’s cancer is back, but it is in the bone of a rib on the right side. They are \”optimistic.\” However, when cancer moves from breast into the bone it means it now becomes chronic, not curable, but she can beat this, for sure. Like I said, KEEP THE FAITH. Mrs. Edwards cracked a rib, which led to the discovery of the new cancer. She is asymptomatic. The campaign not only continues, but they are undaunted. God bless these two people and their family. Their courage is extraordinary. This is life coming at you full speed. The Edwards family can handle anything. Oh, and how did she break her rib? She was trying to lift a \”chest\” in the attic, and hurt her back. John came home and gave her a big hug, but then Elizabeth \”wrenched\” and moved and they heard a \”pop.\” Again, they both believe this rib crack was a gift, which led her to get further tests and catch this cancer in its very early stages. The media \">got it really \">wrong. Politico.com blew it: \”John Edwards is suspending his campaign for President, and may drop out completely, because his wife has suffered a recurrence of the cancer that sickened her in 2004, when she was diagnosed with breast cancer, an Edwards friend told The Politico.\” No. The campaign goes on. Great, great news.

Armstrong\’s slam and Ben Smith apologizes.

The news I\’m hearing from all quarters isn\’t good, but I have no direct source to the campaign at this point in time.

John Edwards, the North Carolina Democrat making a second bid for the presidency,
announced late Wednesday night that he would hold a news conference Thursday,
a day after he and his wife, Elizabeth, visited Mrs. Edwards’ doctor
to assess her health following her recovery from breast cancer.

Mrs. Edwards, in a brief interview from her home in Chapel Hill, said she
and Mr. Edwards would discuss her health at the news conference, but she declined
to elaborate.

“I’m still here,” she said. … ..

Even if it is a \”temporary\” withdrawal from the campaign, this is
a horrendous disease that Mrs. Edwards has been battling for a long time. One
can only hope that it\’s just a flare up and nothing more serious. Fighters do
win these battles, even breast cancer. Keep the faith. We\’ll know more at noon eastern tomorrow.
