Sunday Symbolism
| compliments of TPM |
Ah, yes, Mitt and Ann, not his wife, but Ann Coulter. They\’re a purrr-fect match. It\’s symbolism… with a little sexism, because if we\’re talking about the Sunday shows, we\’ve got to include a little misogyny in the mix.
One woman, except for the Fox \”News\” panel, we can assume will still have a woman invited in among the boys.
Guest
lineup for the Sunday TV news shows:ABC\’s \”This Week\” _ Sens. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., and Trent Lott,
R-Miss.; Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson.CBS\’ \”Face the Nation\” _ Sens. Carl Levin, D-Mich., and Joe Lieberman,
I-Conn.NBC\’s \”Meet the Press\” \”The View\” _ Rep. John
Murtha, D-Pa., and Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C.CNN\’s \”Late Edition\” _ U.S. Ambassador to Iraq Zalmay Khalilzad;
Sens. Christopher Dodd, D-Conn., and Jon Kyl, R-Ariz.; Rep. Tom Tancredo,
R-Colo.\”Fox News Sunday\” _ Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif.; Reps. Pete
Hoekstra, R-Mich., and Charles Rangel, D-N.Y.
Yes, I now call Timmy\’s \”Meet the Press,\” The View, for many reasons, but mostly because of the softball nature of the conversation. You know, like when Dick Cheney went on Timmy\’s show and never heard a harsh word. Seems NBC has earned it, but Mr. Russert even more.
Enjoy your morning coffee. Hope the picture of Ann so early didn\’t put you off your muffins. I\’ll be around a bit later, so let me know if Coulter lets loose with anything else, or if Joe Lieberman gets another prime Democratic assignment.
I\’m sleeping in.
