Anything for War
| The Libby Tapes… Libby and Dick |
What me? That was Cheney\’s line when Libby said he heard Valerie Plame\’s
name from him.
Fitz has Dick on a spit. Emptywheel runs it down.
But given what we know about how Cheney\’s own talking points on Plame evolved
between June 10 and July 14, it is almost impossible for Cheney to argue that
he–like Libby–forgot Plame\’s ID and learned it as if it were new.
Which of course makes it difficult for Libby to argue that he forgot. If his
boss was actively remembering, what are the chances Libby was actively forgetting?
Huh.So here\’s the evolution of Cheney\’s talking points, as best as I can reconstruct
them. … .. ..
And you know things have gotten bad when you\’ve got not only Bill O\’Reilly
going after MSNBC, NBC and everyone else — next it will be the viewers — but
Ann Coulter is finally checking in.
To see how liberal history is created, you need to tune into the nut-cable
stations and watch their coverage of the Scooter Libby trial. On MSNBC they\’re
covering the trial like it\’s the Normandy Invasion, starring Elvis Presley,
as told by Joseph Goebbels.MSNBC\’s \”reportage\” consists of endless repetition of arbitrary
assertions, half-truths and thoroughly debunked canards. No one else cares
about the trial — except presumably Scooter Libby — so the passionate
left is allowed to invent a liberal fable without correction.Night after night, it is blithely asserted on \”Hardball\” that Wilson\’s
trip to Niger debunked the claim that Saddam Hussein had been seeking enriched
uranium from Niger. As David Shuster reported last week: \”Wilson goes and finds out that
the claim that Iraq was seeking uranium from Niger is not accurate.\”
… …
This from a woman Alan Colmes calls \”clever.\” Get it?
Fox, Bill O\’Reilly and now Ann Coulter targeting MSNBC, NBC and anyone daring
to get the truth out about Valerie Plame. Me thinks Fox protests too much.
But what we\’ve got from Republicans, starting in the Senate, is the cover up on all levels having to do with the Iraq war; how we got into it and including how we\’re going to get out of it. They\’re working day and night to duck responsibility. But they took ownership of this war a long time ago. They\’re not weasling out of it. The bill has come due.
