Illegal GOP Robocalls and Push-polling are Working –updated–

This is troublesome. Bowers has more. Then there is this story.

We've been talking about this for weeks over at The
Patriot Project
, with TPM Muckraker
doing some great work on it too.

Today, TPM has run post after
post on the illegal robo-calls and push-polling, which is having an affect.

It's all hands on decks, people. The mud is being slung out of public view.
They'll be glad to take the penalties once they've won.

The other reality just hit, too. It just goes to show you that when one of your own makes an honest mistake, if you give the other side an inch they'll widen the advantage to a mile.

By the way, if you get a robocall, take notes on the time you got the call and anything else you can get (number if possible), and call the metro desk of your local paper. If they get enough calls, after the election this story might make headlines. It's a real problem right now. It's working. It also just might qualify as Rove's November surprise, though after all the work done over at The Patriot Project, as well as TPM Muckraker, I'm not at all surpised.

REPORT TROUBLE: 1 888 DEM VOTE

UPDATE (9:35 p.m.): Here's a terrific DailyKos diary on robocalls.
