U.S. SOLDIERS: What the hell are we doing in Iraq?

Good question. Unfortunately, you can't ask the Administration because they've
decided to hand the whole mess over to the next presidents (plural). The troops
are wondering what the hell they're doing in Iraq. Why? Because there are around
300,000 Iraqi troops, but U.S. forces remain. The mission has shifted and the troops know it. It's just no one is talking about it.
The U.S. Cavalry's Crazy Horse, 3rd Platoon ventures out into Southern Baghdad,
where the enemy is invisible, Iraqi allies untrustworthy, and where American
troops increasingly ask themselves if this is their fight anymore. And who

Invisible enemy, untrustworthy allies have troops questioning their purpose
The troops have been drifting away from the president's policy on Iraq with
each passing month and flag-draped coffin coming home.
But Senator Warner's appraisal of Iraq evidently took
them by surprise? Really? They really aren't paying attention, are they?
If bad news on Iraq can still surprise the president and his people then this
is going to blow their minds, because Hastert's situation is just making their credibility collapse more evident. That's why all the smart Republicans are walking as fast as they can in the other direction. Oh, that's right, they're all still backing Hastert. Keep the pressure on.
