Lamont Campaign Offers to Fix Lieberman Site –updated–
| via Markos |
The Lamont campaign had nothing, I repeat, nothing to do with the hacking of Joe's site. But they're willing to lend a hand anyway.
So say it ain't so! Even TPM
Muckraker is buying into this baloney. And where's Lamont's side to the
story? Paul Kiel's reporting on this is horrible.
The Lamont campaign abjectly denies the groundless hacking charge.
Not only that, but Lamont people have offered to fix Joe's site for him, since
his people don't know what they're doing. Lieberman has refused the help. Why,
I wonder?
Simple, because it allows Lieberman to cry foul and gives him an excuse when
he goes down. Not only that but he hopes to sway voters who haven't voted so
far.
Again, this is not true, which comes straight from Tim Tagaris of the Lamont campaign.
You've also got to ask yourself what Lamont would have to gain from hacking Lieberman's site. He's been ahead in the polls for weeks. Why queer it on election day?
Seriously, this is ridiculous. Stoller
has more details. The Democratic Underground busts
“poor Joe”, as Rush referred to him today. Poor Joe? Have you looked at the money coming in just in the last couple of days?
But now we have Fox “News” stepping in to help Joe, as his
campaign mgr Sean Smith whines on TV. After all, if Ned Lamont wins it means
that the Iraq war will become a national referendum on Bush in November. Fox
can't afford the ratings loss and the further hit it will take when Iraq turns
into an albatross around the Republicans' collective neck.
Again, the Lamont campaign is not involved. This is Joe spin.
Besides, the Lieberman campaign is sending out emails with no trouble at all.
It's a Lieberman lie, a good old-fashioned dirty trick.
UPDATE (12:25 p.m.): This was just emailed to me. Lieberman is using a $15 hosting plan for his site. With a 10GB hosting limit, if your traffic spikes, what's going to happen? You're going down, baby. Shouldn't Lieberman's team have anticipated a spike before elections? These guys don't know anything about the Internets, let alone what kind of tubes you need to run a big site. Dare I call it what it is? Incompetence. Yep, Joe sure has a lot in common with Bush, down to his Internets.
UPDATE II (1:11 p.m.): Some other important facts on why Joe's site is down.
JUST IN… (2:20 p.m.): Interesting question, Did Joe Lieberman's staff break the law with their fake hacking story? Also, Chris Matthews just announced that Joe Lieberman will definitely seek a 3rd party fight for the Senate in the general election in November.
UPDATE III (3:28 p.m.): FDL tech guru Jamie weighs in on Joe's tube problems. Bottom line, see my first update above. You get what you pay for.
UPDATE IV: THIS IS WAS A TEST — It's over now… yes, we're testing our new radio equipment. Today, it's all about the Lamont – Lieberman race. Join me online, listening via new equipment that we started testing yesterday. Enjoy, while we work out some tech bugs. Yours to listen to, warts and all. It's TAYLOR Live. Oh, and by the way, Lieberman campaign now admits there is NO EVIDENCE of hacking… listen in for more.
Again, the second radio test day is over. We're having some tech issues, but they're minor. Some levels need to be fixed, but I'm getting used to the sound board, as well as my two monitors, with 6 windows open at a time! Don't drive or do live radio after cocktails, is my motto at this point. Another live radio test tomorrow afternoon, somewhere between 3-4:30 p.m. Warts and all, baby, but I'm having a blast.
