Well, we've got some clips for you from last Sunday's show on C-SPAN.
Here's the scoop on the Washington Journal interview. My opponent was Rick
Moran of RightWingNuthouse. Steve Scully interviewed us. He was terrific.
As a reminder, my wake up call was 4:00 a.m., with a 5:30 a.m. start time.
Whew, talk about early. It was great fun. The callers were terrific and Rick
was a perfect gentleman, at least to me. He was brutal on Democrats and progressive
blogs, as well as a post he did on Helen Thomas, which brought out some comments, though they aren't included in these clips because I had to keep the file size manageable.
I must say, however, that being on Washington Journal was quite a different
experience from other satellite and radio interviews I've done over the years.
First, it's a lot more civil than radio, believe me. Secondly, it's a lot more
civil than most TV, too, though I've not had the pleasure to make a splash into
the rabid cable shows now on air, having only done local shows around the country.
Steve Scully truly controls the show. There were a couple of times I wanted
to jump in, but knew it was inappropriate, especially when one caller slammed
Democrats. I had to hold my fire until it was my turn. That was a true test
of will, believe me. Anybody who's heard me on radio or heard me interviewed knows that I'm not known for holding my rhetorical fire.
We've cut the show very carefully, so it's just my sections, mostly for practical
reasons. The show was 53 minutes long and that's a gigantic file. But you'll
get an idea of what it was all about.
Anyway, enjoy the clips, which are also on my media
page. Also, thanks for the couple of hundred emails I've gotten since Sunday about the show alone. I'm just overwhelmed and truly grateful. I'm so trying to get back on radio and really shake things up this year that your encouragement means everything, believe me.
