Capitol Hill Police vs. Rep. McKinney

Capitol Hill police on Monday asked a federal prosecutor
to approve an arrest warrant for Rep. Cynthia McKinney for her role in a scuffle
with a police officer last week, the prosecutor's office confirmed.

Capitol Police had no immediate comment so it's not
yet known whether the intent is to file felony or misdemeanor assault charges
against McKinney, a DeKalb County Democrat.

Coz Carson, a spokesman for McKinney, said the requested
warrant should be dismissed if “this is a prosecutor who's not a politician.”

“Any prosecutor with any sense can look at this
thing and understand that it's not something that should be blown out of proportion
any further,” Carson said.

Black
leaders say McKinney victim of racial profiling

Okay, I just got home from the dentist, but this is getting out of hand.

What's with the Capitol police and women?

First it was Cindy Sheehan being ejected and arrested for a shirt emblazoned with U.S. soldier Iraq war death
toll numbers. Meanwhile, Sheehan's conservative counterpart, Mrs. Bill Young, got off with just being
ejected from the Capitol.

Now we've got a black congresswoman walking into the building. The cop doesn't
recognize her, touches her, she turns and takes a swing at him.

The upshot is an arrest warrant for Rep. Cynthia McKinney.

Or is this about race and racial profiling?

McKinney was just on with Wolfie, commending him for his “balance.”
She talked about her press conferences, one of which was with Harry Belafonte
and Danny Glover, not the most balance team to win public opinion, in my humble opinion. She was backed by some liberal groups, jumping on the p.r.
bandwagon. How shocking! Now her attorney, James Myart, is saying that the police are following standard
procedure.

Does anyone else think this is really weird? Or is it the novocaine I've
got coursing through my body after my dentist visit?

Aren't the Capitol Hill police supposed to know the members of the House?

It seems to me the police should have known Rep. McKinney. But an arrest
warrant? And why did McKinney let it get this far? It's obvious that McKinney and the Capitol Hill police can't get along, but this incident seems to be over the top. As over the top as Cindy Sheehan and Mrs. Bill Young getting different treatment by the same police, and neither of those ladies are black.
