Bye-bye Tommy

Bye-bye Tommy

Rep. Tom DeLay (R-Tex.), a primary architect of the
House Republican majority who became one of the most powerful and feared leaders
in Washington, told House allies Monday night he will step down from the House
rather than face a reelection fight that appears increasingly unwinnable.

The decision came just three days after his former
deputy chief of staff, Tony C. Rudy, pleaded guilty to conspiracy and corruption
charges, telling federal prosecutors of a criminal enterprise being run out
of DeLay's leadership offices. Rudy's plea agreement did not implicate DeLay
in any illegal activities, but by placing the influence-buying efforts of
disgraced Republican lobbyist Jack Abramoff directly in DeLay's operation,
the former aide may have made an already difficult reelection bid all but
out of reach.

Rep.
DeLay Won't Seek Reelection

Newt fell.

Now Tommy's gone.

Every “leader” of the conservative movement ends up
canabalizing his own message, eating himself up with his own hypocrisy.

George W. Bush came into office saying he would restore “honor and integrity”
to the White House. Instead, what we've got is a president who knew he was taking
us to war on false pretenses, but did it anyway. Said Saddam had a choice, when
he didn't. Said that he needed to get a court order to wiretap, but didn't.

The conservative movement is bankrupt, eating itself from within, because it
lives off of propaganda, not truth. They're the rubber stamp Republicans or they're nothing.

The Republican Party is imploding before our very eyes. It's so weak, the movement,
the conservative cause is so weak and failed that Tom Delay can't even press
on. It's not just corruption, but moral, political and ethical collapse within
a party that has no ideas, just a facade.

Conservatives and the Republican Party have to start over from scratch. Thirty
years of plotting and propaganda can't stand the light of day. There are no
ideas left, nothing. Kaput.
