Kerry Sets a Trap
Brains come in handy every once in a while.
When I heard about Bush's line-item
veto plea, all I could think of was what baloney. Strip away earmarks. Veto
spending and bills laden with pork, nothing could be simpler. Bush has innumerable
ways of cutting off the cash spigot and weaning Republicans off the trough.
But the line-item veto? Give me a break.
Enter John Kerry.
It's beautiful. It's backstabbing. It's a delicious trap ready to spring.
Steve
Guillard lays it out, so no one else has to. It's right on, presenting Kerry's
underlying plan that could even be called brilliant. Go read it.
