The Port Lease is Dangerous

The Port Lease is Dangerous

– The UAE was one of three countries in the world
to recognize the Taliban as the legitimate government of Afghanistan.

– The UAE has been a key transfer point for illegal
shipments of nuclear components to Iran, North Korea and Lybia.

– According to the FBI, money was transferred
to the 9/11 hijackers through the UAE banking system.

– After 9/11, the Treasury Department reported
that the UAE was not cooperating in efforts to track down Osama Bin Laden’s
bank accounts.

Administration
Outsources Ports

The more information I find on this port lease the dumber John
Snow gets. It started in the Treasury. Ah, yes, all things for cash, even our
own national and homeland secuirty. But seriously, outsourcing our ports to
a foreign owned company of Dubai? What were they thinking, or were they thinking
at all?

If this deal goes through, it will also hand over control of some
military shipments that would go to the U.S. Army.

According to the journal Army Logistician
“Almost 40 percent of the Army cargo deployed in support of Operation
Iraqi Freedom flows through these two ports.” -

Dubai's DP World
will begin meetings tomorrow to defend their lease deal, according to the Financial
Times.

Hearing Democratic Senator Robert Menendez tonight on “Countdown,”
the whole thing sounds like a terrorist's fantasy. America having a foreign owned company handling six
of our ports, which includes cargo that goes to the U.S. military. Lordy, if
only someone in the Administration had actually been in the military maybe they'd
get the significance.

Scrap the Dubai deal.

“We wouldn't turn over our customs service or our border patrol to a foreign government,” Menendez, a Democrat, said during a news conference. “We shouldn't turn over the ports of the United States, either.”
